Teddy Purcell Traded to Florida Panthers

The Florida Panthers have traded for Teddy Purcell from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for a third-round draft pick as reported by SportsNet.  The 30 year-old winger has 32 points in 61 games this season for Edmonton, as is slated to become a UFA this summer.

Purcell is now one of a few forwards which the Panthers have acquired on the Saturday before the trade deadline, previously trading for Jiri Hudler from the Calgary Flames, as well as Jakub Kindl from the Detroit Red Wings.  Purcell's full season cap hit is $4.5 million.
