Red Wings Recall Jakub Kindl

The Detroit Red Wings have recalled defenseman Jakub Kindl as reported in the Detroit Free Press.  According to team General Manager Ken Holland, Kindl was being called up as a reserve for Thursday evening's game against the Florida Panthers.  The 23 year-old blueliner has 5 points (2 goals, 3 assists) in 23 games this season.  He was placed on waivers by the Red Wings before heading to their AHL affiliate Grand Rapids Griffins. At the AHL level he has 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) in 9 games.  Kindl has one more year remaining on his contract, carrying a $2.4 million cap hit, after this season, after which he would become an unrestricted free agent (UFA).
