Montreal Canadiens Trade Fleischman, Weise to Chicago Blackhawks

The Montreal Canadiens have traded Tomas Fleischman and Dale Weise to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Philip Danalt and a second round draft pick in 2018 as reported by USA Today.

The Blackhawks have remained active ahead of the trade deadline on Monday, making their second deal in two days, as they previously made a trade to re-acquire Andrew Ladd from the Winnipeg Jets.

The 27 year-old Weise has a full year cap hit of just over $1 million and will become an unrestricted free agent after this season, if not signed before then by the Blackhawks.

The 31 year-old Fleischman is set to become a UFA after this season and has an annual cap hit of $750K per generalfanager.com.
