Leafs Update: Grabner, Logo, Lamoriello

Michael Grabner of the Toronto Maple Leafs underwent six root canals over the NHL All-Star break, as reported by the Toronto Sun.  The veteran winger who has 11 points (6 goals, 5 assists) in 46 games this season, broke five teeth and had one loose when he took a shot off his face in the Leafs game against the Florida Panthers on January 26.

Grabner will temporarily be wearing a full visor.  In additional Maple Leafs news:

  • Toronto is set to unveil a new logo today, as reported by the Maple Leafs Hot Stove.  The new logo will reportedly be a modernization of the crest that the Maple Leafs had in 1938.
  • Lou Lamoriello participated in an interview with Sportsnet 590 recently, talking about the state of the Maple Leafs.  The longtime GM of the New Jersey Devils and the new GM of the Toronto Maple Leafs indicated that the team's management is giving the team's younger players every bit of a foundation as possible to have success.  He also said that every GM should be active in having conversations at this time of year, no matter what position they are in, to make sure they have the appropriate information and awareness of the different situations.
