Flyers Updates: Cousins, Couturier, Outdoor Game

The Philadelphia Flyers have recalled center Nick Cousins as reported by The Morning Call.  The pivot who has been playing with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL, and leads that team in points with 38 (12 goals, 26 assists) has previously spent time with the Flyers this season.  In additional Flyers news:

  • Second line centerman Sean Couturier will be out for about four weeks with an undisclosed lower body injury as reported at philly.com.  The 2011 number 8 overall draft pick has 24 points (9 goals, 15 assists) in 40 games for the Flyers this season.  Being out for four weeks will cause Couturier to miss the team's next 14 games
  • The Flyers will play the Pittsburgh Penguins outdoors in a battle of Pennsylvania next season according to a report by Scott Burnside of ESPN.  The game will likely be played at Heinz field according to the report, but it isn't clear whether the game will be the Winter Classic or part of the Stadium Series.
