Florida Panthers Trade for Jiri Hudler

The Florida Panthers have traded for Jiri Hudler from the Calgary Flames in exchange for a 2016 second-round draft pick and a 2018 fourth-round draft pick, as reported by ESPN.  The 32 year-old pivot has 35 points in 53 games this season for Calgary.  Hudler, who has a full year cap hit of $4 million is set to become an unrestricted free agent after this season.  The Florida Panthers, who lead the Atlantic Division by three points over the Tampa Bay Lightning, have plenty of cap space available as the trade deadline approaches.  According to generalfanager, that number is about $15 million.
