Canucks Sign Biega To Extension

The Vancouver Canucks have signed Alex Biega to a two-year contract extension as reported by the Vancouver Sun.  The veteran blueliner for the Canucks has seen 25 games of action this season, registering 4 assists.  At the AHL level with the Utica Comets, Biega has notched six points (1 goal, 5 assists) in 14 games.  As reported in the Sun, Biega's contract is a one-way deal worth a total of $1.5 million.  He'll earn $700,000 for 2016-17 and $800,000 for 2017-18.  Biega was set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, prior to this contract extension.
