Blackhawks Update: Svedberg, Rozsival, Teravainen, Toews

Defenseman Viktor Svedberg has been recalled from the Rockford IceHogs by the Chicago Blackhaws, according to a Tweet from writer Chris Kuc.  As Chris Hine reports for the Chicago Tribune, Svedberg is back with the parent club to provide some depth on defense, considering Michal Rozsival is questionable with a lower body injury.  Svedberg has 10 points (1 goal, 9 assists) in 30 games at the AHL level this season, while notching 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) in 15 games at the NHL level.  In additional Chicago Blackhawks news:

  • Teuvo Teravainen will center the Blackhawks' top line with Jonathan Toews suspended for one game due to missing the All-Star game, reports Brandon M. Cain of Second City Hockey.  Teravainen has played both center and right wing for Chicago this season.  The Finnish forward has 22 points (9 goals, 13 assists) in 49 games.
  • The Blackhawks have the largest per-game viewership in the country reports Kyle Thele at the Chicago Sun-Times.  Their viewership has likely been built over time with their multiple Stanley Cup wins in recent years, and in the much nearer term through a win streak (the team won 12 straight games between December 29 and January 19).  The first place Blackhawks are 33-16-4 prior to the All-Star break this season.
