Washington Capitals Sign Forward Mitchell

As reported in the Washington Post, the Washington Capitals have re-signed forward Garrett Mitchell to a two-year deal.  Mitchell was drafted in 2009 by the Capitals and has played with the AHL Hershey Bears for the past four seasons.  He notched eight points in 64 games last season, while accumulating a hefty 121 penalty minutes.  Under the two-way deal, Mitchell will earn $575,000 in 2015-16 if in the NHL, and $105,000 if in the AHL, per the Post report.
