Rangers Trade Walcott to Lightning

The New York Rangers have traded defenseman Daniel Walcott to the Tampa Bay Lightning for a seventh-round draft pick in the 2015 NHL entry draft, according to this Rangers' twitter post..  In this rare trade during the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Rangers re-acquire the draft pick that they sent to the Tampa Bay Lightning as part of the trade where they acquired Martin St. Louis.  The 21 year-old left-shooting blueliner spent most of last season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada where he put up 41 points in 54 games.  Walcott was originally drafted 140th overall by the Rangers in 2014.  According to a scouting report at Hockey's Future, Walcott excels at moving the puck as a defenseman.
