New Jersey Devils Close to Selecting New Head Coach

The New Jersey Devils are closing in on selecting their new head coach, according to a recent report at nj.com.  Former Tampa Bay Lighting head coach Guy Boucher will not be in the mix according to the report, because the window of time that his current team, SC Bern, had allowed for him to accept an NHL coaching position has closed.  Three coaches mentioned as serious candidates for New Jersey's head coaching position include Nashville Predators' assistant Phil Housley, Washington Capitals' assistant Todd Reirden, and Pittsburgh's AHL affiliate Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins' head coach John Hynes who has worked with New Jersey's GM Ray Shero previously.
