Senators Sign O'Connor

The Ottawa Senators have signed free agent goaltender Matt O'Connor, who recently led his Boston University Terriers to the NCAA title game, eventually won by the Providence College Friars. In 35 games for the Terriers, O'Connor put up a 2.18 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage, last season. O'Connor's services were in demand by several NHL teams. He will most likely play for the Senators' AHL affiliate in Binghamton. O'Connor joins a Senators squad of netminders that includes three NHL starters in Craig Anderson, Robin Lehner and Andrew "The Hamburglar" Hammond. Anderson and Lehner are both under contract for next season, while Hammond is currently slated to become an unrestricted free agent.
