New Jersey Hires Shero

The New Jersey Devils have hired former Pittsburgh Penguins General Manager Ray Shero to the same position according to a recent post at ProHockeyTalk. Longtime New Jersey GM Lou Lamoriello will remain with the team in the role of President of Hockey Operations. In eight years with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Ray Shero brought home a Stanley Cup. Next on the list of hires for New Jersey will be a full-time head coach. The Devils were coached by Adam Oates and Scott Stevens for the last piece of their 2014-15 NHL season.

Lou Lamoriello had served as the New Jersey Devils' General Manager since way back in 1987. During his tenure in the GM capacity, Lou guided the Devils to three Stanley Cup Championships (1995, 2000, and 2003).

Both Ray Shero and Lou Lamoriello will consult with the Devils' team owners on major decisions, however, the new permanent head coach will be determined by Shero according to the team's website.
