Leafs Sign Carrick

The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed forward Sam Carrick to a one-year deal, as reported in the Toronto Sun.  The 23 year-old pivot saw 16 games of NHL action with the Leafs, while primarily taking a lead role with the Toronto Mariles this past season.  A checking forward who can score, Carrick notched 27 points in 59 games for the Marlies in 2014-15.  While with the big club, he picked up a goal and an assist, registering nine penalty minutes as well.  Carrick was selected 144th overall by the Leafs in the 2010 NHL entry draft.
