Howard: Trade Request Not in Plans

Although rookie netminder Petr Mrazek played phenomenally for the Detroit Red Wings towards the end of their 2014-15 season, eventually ending in a seven game series with the Tampa Bay Lighting, veteran Red Wings' goalie Jimmy Howard has no plans to request a trade in the offseason according to Sports Illustrated. Quite the contrary, Howard plans on competing for the starting position in Detroit's net for 2015-16. Howard was drafted by Detroit in 2003 and has had the lion's share of time in net for the Red Wings since the 2009-10 season.
