Jets Trade For Harrison

The Winnipeg Jets have traded with the Carolina Hurricanes, acquiring defenseman Jay Harrison in exchange for a sixth round draft pick in the 2015 NHL entry draft, according to NHL.com.

As reported in the Winnipeg Free Press, the Jets' defensive corps has been decimated. Within hours of the news that Winnipeg would be without defenseman Mark Stuart until the mid-winter timeframe, the Jets had completed the trade for veteran blueliner Harrison.

As noted in The News-Observer, Harrison had previously played for current Jets head coach Paul Maurice while both were with the Hurricanes.
