Erixon Traded to Blackhawks for Morin

At least two NHL teams have decided to make a significant roster move prior to the holiday freeze period.  As reported by CBS Sports, the Chicago Blackhawks have traded Jeremy Morin to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for Tim Erixon.

Tim Erixon, a big young defenseman, had played in 20 games for the Blue Jackets this season, notching 6 points (goal, 5 assists).  He is currently signed to a one-year deal worth $600K.

Jeremy Morin meanwhile is a young forward making $800K annually on a two-year deal expiring after next season.  He had notched 11 points in 24 games last season.  In 15 games this season, he has not yet tallied a point.
