Edmonton and Florida Trade Forwards

The Edmonton Oilers picked up center Steve Pinizzotto and winger Jack Combs from the Florida Panthers, in return for center Ryan Martindale and winger Derek Nesbitt according to NHL.com.

Pinizzotto, a 29 year-old right-handed pivot, has played in 21 games for the San Anontio Rampage of the AHL, notching seven points this season.   Pinizzotto will earn $125,000 at the AHL level and $650,000 at the NHL level under his current contract, which expires after this season.  Pinizzotto is a scrappy player not hesitant to drop his gloves.

Combs, a 25 year-old left-shooting winger, has played in 19 games for San Antonio this season, garnering two points, while also scoring nine goals and assisting on four more in eight contests with the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL.  Combs has a goal-scorers touch, who once notched 42 goals in 67 games at the OHL level.  He can also dazzle with the puck.

The Panthers pick up a 22 year-old left-shooting pivot in Ryan Martindale, who had been playing with the Oklahoma City Barons this season.  In 22 games with the Barons in 2013-14, Martindale earned 10 points (3 goals, 7 assists).  He is finishing up a three-year deal this season, after which he will become a RFA.

Derek Nesbitt is a 31 year-old veteran of the ECHL and AHL.  While with the Barons this season, he put up a very respectable 19 points (10 goals, 9 assists) in 38 games.
