Flames Trade Jackman

The Calgary Flames have traded Tim Jackman to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for a sixth round draft pick in 2014 according to sportsnet.ca.

The move frees up a roster spot, which the Flames have chosen to fill with the Abbotsford Heat's leading scorer in center Blair Jones, while also netting them another chance at finding a good young player in the coming draft.

This trade does not free up much cap room for Calgary. Jackman's contract carries a $612,500 annual cap hit per Cap Geek.

Jackman, who could fill an enforcer role for the Ducks, has racked up 654 penalty minutes in 400 regular season NHL games.
