Joe Colborne to Debut with Flames?

Joe Colborne could make his debut for the Calgary Flames in this evening's game with the Columbus Blue Jackets according to Pro Hockey Talk.  Colborne was recently traded by the Toronto Maple Leafs to the Flames, rather than be put through waivers where he was most certain to be picked up by another team.  The big centerman (6'5") is under contract through this season, at a cap hit of $600K, after which he will become a restricted free agent.   Colborne's presence on the Flames was immediately welcomed, in particular by recent draft pick Sean Monahan, who has made the NHL squad in his first season with the franchise:
“Whenever you get another young player and a good player who works hard and plays the game the right way, it’s exciting,” Monahan said. “I’m happy to have him as part of the Calgary organization.”
That quote is of particular note in that Colborne will be a fellow centerman on the Flames vying for playing time on the Calgary depth chart.

Colborne has played in 16 regular season NHL games, notching six points.  This is the second time that Colborne has been traded, after being dealt to Toronto by the Boston Bruins in 2011.
