Coyotes' Halpern, Stars' Mueller Placed on Waivers

Jeff Halpern who was recently signed by the Phoenix Coyotes to a one-year deal, was placed on waivers by the team on Sunday.  Ryan Dadoun reports at Pro Hockey Talk, that the move was required because Halpern started this season in the Finnish League and players that "begin the season in Europe must clear waivers if they sign with an NHL club."

Chris Mueller, a 27 year-old center for the Dallas Stars, was placed on waivers by the team, reportedly so the team can make a "few minor transactions", according to Defending Big D.  The former Nashville Predator has taken to the ice in 37 regular season NHL games scoring 8 points.  If he clears waivers, he will play with the Texas Stars of the AHL.
