NHL Snap Shots: Bergeron, Kundratek and Emery


  • As reported on boston.com, Patrice Bergeron will not need surgery.  The injuries he endured towards the end of the Stanley Cup Championship included, torn rib cartilage, a broken rib, a separated shoulder and a collapsed lung.  It's expected that he'll be ready for training camp.  
  • The Washington Capitals have re-signed Thomas Kundratek to a two-year deal as reported by Katie Carrera at the Washington Post.  The 23-year-old defenseman played in 25 regular season contest for Washington this past season, notching 7 points.  
  • The Chicago Blackhawks are in negotiation with free agent goaltender Ray Emery according to Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune.  The 30-year-old netminder was stellar this past season for the eventual Stanley Cup Champions, seeing 21 games of regular season ice time and putting up a stupendous 1.94 goals-against-average and a .922 save percentage.
