NHL Free Agent Snap Shots: Zidlicky, Dumont, Pelech, Hagelin

The New Jersey Devils have re-signed Marek Zidlicky to a one-year, $3 million deal according to Tom Gulitti at Fire and Ice on northjersey.com.  The 36 year-old defenseman had become an unrestricted free agent after the 2012-13 season, when he completed a three-year, $12 million contract.  In a full slate of 48 games for New Jersey this past season, Zidlicky notched 19 points.   In further free agent news:

  • The Montreal Canadiens have re-signed young center Gabriel Dumont  to a two-year contract according to the Montreal Gazette.   Dumont played in ten games for the Habs during the 2012-13 regular season, picking up three points in ten games.  
  • As reported on NHL.com, the San Jose Sharks have re-signed forward Matt Pelech.  The defenseman from Toronto was inked to a one-year deal. 
  • Carl Hagelin was re-signed by the New York Rangers to a two-year, $4.5 million contract as published at Yahoo.  The 24 year-old forward from Sweden played in a full 48 regular season games for the Rangers in 2012-13, scoring 10 goals and assisting on 14.
