Additional NHL Free Agent Signings: Iginla, Khabibulin, Schultz, Cooke

Jarome Iginla signed with the Boston Bruins, as reported by Fluto Shinzawa of the Boston Globe, for one year at $1.8 million in base salary with $4.2 in incentives.  After being traded from the Calgary Flames to the Pittsburgh Penguins late last season, Iginla continued to perform strong offensively, notching 11 points in 13 regular season games.  He was a valuable asset in the playoffs as well, contributing 12 points in 15 playoff games.

As reported on ESPN, the Chicago Blackhawks have signed goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin to a one-year deal.  Capgeek.com indicates that the cap hit will be $2 million for the 2013-14 season, with a salary of $1.7 million and $300K in bonuses.

Jeff Schultz was signed by the Los Angeles Kings to a one-year deal according to NHL.com.  The big 27-year-old defenseman has spent the majority of his NHL career with the Washington Capitals.

Chris Peters reports on cbssports.com that Matt Cooke has signed a three-year deal with the Minnesota Wild.  Cooke, who spent the last five seasons in Pittsburgh, has amassed 360 points in 935 regular season games.  His contract with the Wild is reportedly for three years at $2.5 million per year.
