NHL Snap Shots: Messier Confirms, Minor Trade, Arcobello, Staying in the KHL

Greg Wyshynski reports on the Puck Daddy blog that former NHL forward Andrei Kostitsyn will remain in the KHL.  Kostitsyn last saw NHL ice-time with the Nashville Predators during the 2011-12 playoffs.  The former 10th overall draft pick spent most of his NHL career with the Montreal Canadiens, but he is now plying his trade in the Russian league for Traktor Chelyabinsk.   Montreal received the Predators' second pick in this year's draft for Kostitsyn when they traded him to Nashville in early 2012.

According to the Edmonton Oilers have signed a one-year deal with forward Mark Arcobello.

The Florida Panthers have made a trade with the Nashville Predators. The Panthers have sent TJ Brennan to Nashville and return for Bobby Butler.  Both players become restricted free agents in July.

Mark Messier has confirmed his interest in the New York Rangers head-coaching position, and the fact that he has interviewed with Rangers' GM Glen Sather on NHL network.
