Nashville Predators Sign Defenseman Roman Josi

The Nashville Predators have locked up RFA Roman Josi to a seven year deal, according to ESPN.  The deal is reportedly worth $4 million per season.  The Swiss native put up 18 points in the 48 game regular season schedule for 2013.  There is certainly risk in signing a player to a seven year contract, who has played just 100 regular season NHL games.  But Predators GM David Poile, while recognizing that risk, also sees the significant potential upside, as well as the risk of leaving the RFA unsigned through July 5.
