Colorado Avalanche Offered Trade for First Overall Pick in 2013 NHL Draft

According to cbssports.com, the Colorado Avalanche had received an offer to trade their first overall pick in this year's NHL entry draft.  It was reported that the Calgary Flames offered their three first round picks in the draft, in exchange for Colorado's first overall pick.  The Avalanche are widely expected to take the top defenseman, and by some scouting services the number one overall prospect available in Seth Jones.  Jones, who plyed his trade for the Portland Winterhawks of the WHL this past season, is the son of former NBA player Popeye Jones.
