Simon Gagne Trade to Philadelphia Proves to be Productive

Simon Gagne was traded back to the team where he began his NHL career as a 19-year-old, the Philadelphia Flyers, at least partially because the Los Angeles Kings decided that he did not fit Darryl Sutter's system, as reported by foxsports.com.  The Kings parted ways with Gagne in return for a conditional draft pick.

Gagne had great success in Philadelphia, notching a career high of 47 goals during the 2005-06 NHL season.  Although he contributed to the Kings Stanley Cup Championship run in 2011-12, he had not seen the same offensive success that he was noted for in the city of brotherly love.

In 11 games for the Kings this season, he had not scored a goal.  It was thought by some that he needed a change of scenery, and going back to Philadelphia would do his game good.  Well, those who thought that were proven right, when Gagne scored a goal in his first game back as a Flyer.
