NHL Trade Deadline 2013 Update - Goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff

As the NHL trade deadline approaches on April 3, 2013, talk will heat up around whether or not goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff will be moved.  Although Kiprusoff's contract isn't up for another season, with Calgary sitting at the bottom of the Western Conference playoff scenario, Calgary Flames' GM Jay Feaster may just determine that it's time to rebuild.  If that's the case, and teams come calling with a need for a proven netminder prior to a playoff run, don't rule out a trade this season.

The question has been raised again recently as to whether the Flames should hang on to their primary goaltender.  The pluses and minuses of a trade have been weighed.

Two teams rumored to have been looking at Kiprusoff as a trade deadline acquisition are the Toronto Maple Leafs and Chicago Blackhawks, according to calgaryherald.com.   With the way that Ray Emery and Corey Crawford have played this season, it would seem to make more sense that Toronto would be interested in Kiprusoff's services as we near the Stanley Cup playoff race.
