NHL Snap Shots: Lightning, Cooper, Islanders, Visnovsky

The Tampa Bay Lightning won their first contest under their new head coach, Jon Cooper, in a come-from-behind victory over the New Jersey Devils at home, in a shootout.  Cooper, previously the head coach of Tampa Bay's AHL affiliate Syracuse Crunch, was named to the helm of the Lightning after they parted ways with previous head coach Guy Boucher.

New York Islander defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky has signed a two-year extension according to nhl.com.  Visnovsky was suspended earlier in the season, after not joining the team after the lockout ended.  There may have been some misunderstanding as to the reason why Visnovsky did not join the Isles after the lockout.  That is water under the bridge as far as both player and team are concerned, as Visnovksy was deemed a valuable part of the team and re-signed through 2014-15.
