Doug Murray Traded to Pittsburgh Penguins

As reported by the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, the Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired defenseman Doug Murray from the San Jose Sharks in return for a 2013 second-round pick and a 2014 conditional draft pick.  The Cornell University graduate was drafted by the Sharks in 1999 and had played his entire NHL career with that team.

In 422 games, the blueliner has garnered 56 points, most of them assists.  The heavy hitter is supposed to be strong on the penalty kill.

The Penguins have now traded a defenseman (Joe Morrow) and acquired a defenseman in the span of a day.
