Corey Perry Re-signed by Anaheim Ducks for 8 Years

Corey Perry has been inked to an eight-year extension by the Anaheim Ducks, in a deal very similar to the one his teammate Ryan Getzlaf just agreed to, according to SI.com.  It's reported that Perry's deal is for $69 million in total.

This now takes Perry's name off the most interesting players list for the April 3 trade deadline.  With both the  2010-11 NHL MVP and Getzlaf re-signed and happy, the Ducks can continue their push towards the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

This move may have come as a surprise to some as rumors were that Perry wasn't so sure he wanted to remain in Anaheim.  To most hockey fans though, it is a positive, as we get to continue to watch Perry and Getzlaf work together in one of the best NHL tandems today.
