NHL Snap Shots: Central Division

Shawn Mitchell of the Columbus Dispatch reports that the Blue Jackets have sent top prospect Ryan Johansen to their AHL affiliate in Springfield. Johansen led the Blue Jackets in faceoff percentage.

Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports that the Red Wings number two backup goaltender Joey MacDonald may be cleared to play as early as this weekend. This is good news for primary goalie Jimmy Howard who has been getting a major amount of work in according to coach Mike Babcock.

Josh Cooper reports for the Tennessean that the Nashville Predators will be playing at home for the first time in more than two weeks and that Patric Hornqvist is still out with an injury.

According to the Chicago Tribune, not only do the Blackhawks have the best record in the NHL, but they have played the most road games.

Dan O'Neill reports for the St. Louis Dispatch that the Blues are trying to right the ship, as they have stumbled after their superb start.
