2013 NHL Free Agents - Corey Perry

Corey Perry of the Anaheim Ducks will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2013 season, according to capgeek.com.  The 27 year old right wing is coming to the end of a 5 year contract worth $26.625 million.

Perry has become increased his goals to assists ratio in the past couple of seasons, scoring 37 goals last season and 50 the one before that.  Here are Perry's career statistics according to hockey-reference.com:
Although the Ducks are currently slated to have significant space under the salary cap after this season according to capgeek.com, they also have some significant free agents to sign, both restricted and unrestricted, currently on their roster.

Ryan Getzlaf is a must-sign for Anaheim.  The Ducks will also have to make a decision, although the players will certainly have a say themselves, as to whether they want to re-up with aging all-stars Saku Koivu and Teemu Selanne.  Defenseman Toni Lydman will be a UFA after 2013, and the Ducks also have a couple of RFAs they will need to make decisions on.

All this being said, and if all of the above players are signed, they should still have enough room to satisfy the contract of Corey Perry.

Outlook
Corey Perry has been a key contributor offensively for the Anaheim Ducks.  Don't expect that to change.   Anaheim should wind up signing Perry to an extension or a new contract at season's end.
