Washington Capitals and Florida Panthers Make a Trade

Jason Brough reports on nbcsports.com that the Washington Capitals have traded Zach Hamill to the Florida Panthers for Casey Wellman.  

Zach Hamill was the eighth overall pick in the 2007 NHL Draft by the Boston Bruins.  He had played in 16 regular season games in 2011-12, notching two points.

Casey Wellman, a 25 year old center, last saw NHL ice time with the Minnesota Wild in 2011-12.  He played in 14 games with the Wild garnering 7 points.  The Panthers had received Wellman in 2012 from the Wild in exchange for a 2014 Draft pick.
