The Vancouver Canucks Goalie Saga Continues With Luongo and Schneider

With Roberto Luongo's recent shutout, the Vancouver Canucks have a dilemma that some other teams might envy.  They have two top-notch goaltenders.  Luongo's goals against average now sits at a miniscule 1.61 after 3 games started and 4 games in total for 2013.  Listening to Hockey Central at Noon, it sounds as if there is strong sentiment that Luongo should be Vancouver's starting goaltender going forward.

Cory Schneider has been no slouch in net either, however.  He may not have been as consistent to-date for Vancouver in 2013, but he has had two very strong performances and he owns a .500 win-loss record.

Vancouver could feasibly platoon these two goalies for the rest of this season and beyond.  But if they can get valuable young prospects or draft picks for one of them, why wouldn't they?

UPDATE (as of 4:41 ET on 1-31-13):  According to nbcsports.com, Roberto Luongo will get the start for the Vancouver Canucks on Friday against the Chicago Blackhawks.
